What does a scooter exhaust do?
The exhaust of your scooter determines more than just the appearance. There are scooter exhausts that are suitable for use as a replacement for the original exhaust, but there are also scooter exhausts that increase the performance of your scooter. One of the first steps if you want to boost your scooter is to start by installing a different exhaust. At Allesvoorscooters.nl you will find a wide range of exhausts from many brands. Standard exhausts to use as a replacement for the original exhaust, but of course also racing scooter exhausts for 50cc and 70cc cylinders from tuning brands such as Polini, Malossi, Yasuni, Dpr, Turbokit and Leovince. Exhaust scooter replacement costs
The costs for replacing a scooter exhaust are very different. Broadly speaking, this has to do with the make and model of scooter you have. An average price is between 50 and 150 euros for mounting / replacing the exhaust. This does not include the exhaust itself. As indicated, it is very dependent on the model and brand of scooter. Age also plays an important role. Below are some factors that affect the cost of replacement;
- Rear wheel disassembly: If the rear wheel has to be removed, there are usually more costs involved
- Condition of bolts and nuts: If bolts break during disassembly, it will take more work to repair, which will increase the costs
- Adjusting the scooter: In addition to mounting, the scooter may need to be readjusted. This is mainly the case with 2-stroke scooters and is not always necessary. This is necessary if you are going from a stock exhaust to a fast exhaust and you want it to run smoothly (which it usually does). A separate cost will then be charged for adjustment.
- Hourly wage: The hourly wage is not the same everywhere and therefore the price can be different between different scooter companies. You can inquire about this in advance.
The cheapest is of course to replace your exhaust yourself. It is not very difficult in itself, but it is useful if you have done this before or if you have someone who has replaced an exhaust before. You definitely need tools, but no specific tools are needed. With some spanners, screwdrivers and a set of sockets you can come a long way. We recommend that you also place a new exhaust gasket when replacing your exhaust.
2-stroke or 4-stroke exhaust
If you have a scooter with a petrol engine, it can be a 2-stroke or a 4-stroke engine. Apart from the fact that the blocks work completely differently, the exhaust is completely different. A 2-stroke scooter exhaust therefore never fits on a 4-stroke, and vice versa. Fortunately, we have made it easy for you to find a suitable scooter exhaust! Simply select the brand of your scooter, for example Aprilia, Gilera, Peugeot, Piaggio, Kymco, or another brand and then we will show all models of the selected brand. Usually with frame number ranges or model numbers. So, if necessary, also check the model code on the registration certificate. Popular models include Fiddle 2, Primavera, Sprint and AGM VX50. After selecting the model, we show all suitable exhausts. Then you can choose whether you are looking for a standard, original exhaust for your scooter, or whether you are looking for a tuning exhaust. With a tuning exhaust you can get better performance and boost your scooter. Especially with a 2-stroke scooter, the exhaust is very important when it comes to boosting / hearing performance. With a 4-stroke scooter, the exhaust is mainly important for the sound and the looks.
Fast or standard exhaust?
Have you already made a choice? We have standard / original exhausts but can also help you if you want to install a fast (tuning) exhaust to boost your scooter. Standard exhausts look like the original exhaust but are usually a lot cheaper than the original Aprilia or Vespa exhaust. You can easily exchange standard models for the original exhaust and we have it from 45 euros. The standard exhausts that we sell are from the brands Tecnigas, 101 Octane, Yasuni and Naraku. Recently, Yasuni has a standard look exhaust, while previously they only had fast exhausts and are also known for that. If you want to boost a 2-stroke scooter, you will quickly arrive at another exhaust, also called a 'bend exhaust'. These have an 'expansion' and ensure a better filling of the cylinder so that you accelerate faster and so that the top speed increases. With a 4-stroke scooter, the exhaust has much less influence. You can, however, adjust the sound and ensure a better flow of the exhaust gases. This may be desirable are with a 70cc or 80cc cylinder. A well-known brand for 4-stroke scooter exhausts is Turbokit. Of course you will also find it with us. Do you have questions about a standard or fast scooter exhaust? Please feel free to contact our customer service.
